Jersey Customs Pop-in – Are you an Approved Trader for imports from the EU?

Jersey Customs and Immigration Service (JCIS) are holding two pop-in sessions for Approved Traders who may have questions on the recent rule change to customs declarations for goods imported from the EU.

During 2021 JCIS permitted Approved Traders to complete their customs declaration up to 30 days after goods were released. From 1 January 2022, this special dispensation – referred to as an easement – came to an end, meaning that goods imported from the EU are treated in the same way as those from any other third country, and customs declarations must be submitted on or before arrival.

If you are an Approved Trader experiencing difficulties with imports, or are unsure of what to do, please come along and have a chat with a member of the team from JCIS.
